Abstract

The combined influence of regional climate change in East European steppe biome and changing priorities of agricultural policy on the biological productivity of agrolandscapes is considered for the three decades (1980-s, 1990-s and 2000-s). Sum annual NDVI derived from remote sensing data of low and medium resolution is used as a reliable indicator of biological productivity of the semiarid landscapes. Spatial analysis of decadal trends are discussed for the different zonal landscapes of region in study with a special attention to the ongoing climate change, agricultural reforms and grain production dynamics.
